DOKKUM DELIVERED
Recap of the BOMBA TOUR FRYSLÂN
The LSRF BOMBA Tour chose north this season and landed in Dokkum on November 16th. After a week of cold rain showers and stormy weather, the skies cleared and a bright sun decided to show up. A perfect crispy day for a nice, social ride with about 100 enthusiast participants.
Just before noon, two groups left Brouwerij Dockum, one hitting the gravel, the other one taking the road. Around 65 km each, the two rides met again halfway at the BOMBA spot, for a nice shot of local moonshine Flasks were filled up and last zips were taken, before the second half of the ride took off. Around 3 pm, most riders had returned to the Brouwerij, where they were welcomed with warming fire pits, a hot shower and a nice beer. The Bastard had already begun cooking and heating up the grill for some great mashed potatoes, beef stew, sweet stewed pears and hardy soup. Real autumnal, grounding food for everybody who had ridden their bikes that day in mid November.
With rosy cheeks from the cold and the food, the crowd took a seat inside to finish their drinks whilst watching the cyclocross race on the big screen. After that, it was time to enjoy the live podcast by Laurens and Stefan, who had built their set-up in the middle of the venue. A quick peek at the LSRF booth to check out the new winter jersey collection and to get some great bargains and deals wrapped up this full day of cycling fun. We would like to thank everybody that joined us and a special thanks to Brouwerij Dockum for hosting our event and The Bastard for serving us, again, with the best food.
